Founded in 1949, the Baton Rouge Symphony League inspires community support for the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra through a wide range of innovative fundraising events, educational programs and hands-on projects. The League is one of the largest sources of financial support for the BRSO with contributions exceeding one million dollars to date. Over 250 members come from all sectors of the community. Membership is open to all who share our commitment to enrich and elevate our city through the finest symphonic music.

The Baton Rouge Symphony League is a great way to get involved! From service projects to fundraisers, the Symphony League supports the many programs of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra with a special emphasis on educational programs.

The Baton Rouge Symphony League’s mission is “to serve the interest of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra by fostering music appreciation among children and adults and by giving volunteer service and financial support to the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.”

• Supports the Louisiana Youth Orchestra through growth of music education in schools.
• Presents a BRSO Opening Night Gala & Closing Night Gala for the symphony subscribers with proceeds going to the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.
• Provides a volunteer program for Les Jeunes Amies, girls grades 9 through 12, who donate their time and efforts at BRSO concerts and events.
• Hosts a week-long Culture Camp with Les Jeunes Amies working together for underprivileged children.
• Presents Bal de la Symphonie each year honoring Les Jeunes Amies graduates. The Anslee Laura Phillips award is presented at the Bal de la Symphonie to the senior girl who donates the largest amount of service hours during her time in the LJA program.
• Supports Discovery Concerts for area school children to hear the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.
• Presents the annual Mad Hatters Fashion Show & Luncheon where local supporters wear stylish and sometimes outlandish hats, judged by local community celebrities, with proceeds supporting the Symphony and Louisiana Youth Orchestra.
• Hosts Orchestra Appreciation Dinner annually for the orchestra and choral members.
